Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
What is CBT?
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a central platform for treating depression, anxiety, eating disorders, relationship issues and other causes of mental distress. CBT operates on the principles that the way we think and analyse events in life affects our behaviour and our feelings. In particular, CBT is for a specified problem and goal-based approach system which requires the active participation of people to succeed.
CBT can have a positive influence on what people feel and act. It can provide people with strategies which in return helps people to face the challenges of life. CBT comprises several conversational sessions in which a therapist and a person meet and work collaboratively on a constant schedule.
It is important to acknowledge that the progress made in CBT is based on research and clinical practices. CBT is a therapy with abundant scientific research that the actions developed under CBT do produce changes. Thus this differentiates CBT from other psychological methods of treatment.
CBT therapists focus on the present current life of the individuals other than the past issues. Only a special amount of one’s history is needed. The focus is laid on moving forward without looking back and to develop better and effective ways of dealing with life.
