What is Meditation?
Meditation is a power to enhance and deepen our understanding of the self. It should not be a torture. It must be fun! Start small.
If you sit and try to meditate , it is not possible . Similarly if you create such environment in your body , mind meditation has to blossom.
Actually you can meditate anytime, anywhere and under any circumstances.
Many people think you have to sit in some position ,empty mind, do not think of anything and just concentrate and it is just misunderstanding of meditation. Actually , to meditate there is no need to do anything like create a state of mind , block your thoughts . Just connect with yourself , be aware of what you are doing, how you are doing.
Five minutes a day is a great start!
There are 3 stages of meditation-
Dharna– When you try to hold concentration on something for longer periods of time without any distraction
Dhyanam – occurs when there begins to be a relationship between the mind and the object of attention. It means that you gain some insights about yourself from concentrating on the object.
Samadhi- In the state of Samadhi the relationship between the object and the mind becomes very close, as if they have merged. At that point the mind begins to shed its conditioning and the object shines as it is. It also loose body consciousness.
It increases positive emotions, control over emotions and your ability to focus and decreases anxiety , stress , depression, the amount of thoughts or the speed of which thought enter your mind
With power of meditation you can remove all the doubts and fears by yourself .
How to meditate step by step properly before bed-
It’s an effective for people who struggle to fall asleep at night.
By relaxing your body and brain, it’s easier to quiet the distracting thoughts that keep your mind buzzing.
Setting a routine takes practice. By making time for it, you ’ll be able to enjoy its benefits.
Here are the beginning steps of meditation-
As you try it for sleep, be patient with yourself. A meditation practice is just that — a practice. Start by meditating for 3 to 5 minutes before bed. Over time, slow increase the time to 15 to 20 minutes. It ’ll take time to learn how to quiet your mind.
we recommend starting at least an hour before you plan to be asleep to allow you to witness all the benefits, rather than just relaxing yourself to sleep.
We recommend a quiet and peaceful place to relax. Start by concentrating on your breath, taking deep breaths at first and also settling into a natural rhythm. Rather than trying to cut yourself off from the rest of the world, allow yourself to come apprehensive of your surroundings, but as an observer, not a participant.
As thoughts begin to enter your mind, allow yourself to admit them, and also let them pass by, separating yourself from the past and future, and concentrating solely on the present.
At first it may be delicate to maintain this position of focus, which is okay. The more you exercise, the easier you’ll fall into a relaxed and present state, allowing your mind to stop battling, and your body to naturally help you fall asleep once you finish.
